The Runciman Award 2014

The Runciman Award for 2014 has been awarded to our member Roderick Beaton, for his book Byron's War: Romantic Rebellion, Greek Revolution (Cambridge University Press).

The announcement and presentation of the Award took place at the Hellenic Centre, London, on 19 June. The prize is awarded for the year's best book on some aspect of Greece and the Hellenic world and is sponsored by the National Bank of Greece. Roderick Beaton is Koraes Professor of Modern and Byzantine History, Language and Literature at King's College London. He was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 2013. He was also the recipient of the 2004 Runciman Award for his biography of George Seferis.
