The Centre for Translation Studies (CTS) at Surrey is a research centre that focuses on postgraduate course provision.

Founded in 1982, well before the late 1990s boom of Translation Studies in the UK, the centre has a long tradition in research and research-led teaching. Current provision includes business-economics, scientific-technical translation and translation technology as well as different modalities of translation, namely, audiovisual translation (subtitling and audio description) and interpreting. The centre can provide training in 13 languages all of which are paired with English. Greek features prominently in every year's cohort as a preferred language for subtitling, translation and interpreting across a range of one-year MA programmes. Most Greek graduates pursue a career as subtitlers, translators, project co-ordinators/managers, translation checkers and quality assurance localizers.
