The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Departments of Classical Studies and Comparative Literature have been authorized to make an appointment in Modern Greek Studies (C. P. Cavafy Endowed Chair) at the tenured level (Associate Professor or Full Professor) beginning September 1, 2018.

The candidate should be qualified to teach Modern Greek language and culture and comparative literature and to fully participate in the activities of both departments. Expertise may range from literature, theory, and cultural studies to studies in performance, film and new media, translation, visual culture, heritage, and classical receptions.
