The Annual General Meeting of the Society for Modern Greek Studies will take place at 3:15 pm on Saturday 4 June 2016, at the Hellenic Centre, 16-18 Paddington Street, London W1U 5AS. It will be followed, at 4:30 pm, by a public lecture given by Professor Renée Hirschon, with the title: "A land of refugees: Greece in the current migration crisis".

Professor Hirschon is Senior Research Fellow at St Peter's College, Oxford, and was formerly Professor of Social Anthropology at the University of the Aegean. She has also been for many years a Research Associate of the Refugee Studies Centre, Queen Elizabeth House, University of Oxford.

All are welcome at the lecture, but you are asked to notify the Secretary by email if you intend to be present.
